Program The first reconciliation program consists of three family sessions held monthly from September or October through December; children attend these sessions with their parent(s) or another responsible adult. The preparation sessions are primarily parent-led and include group activities and adult learning. In order to celebrate their first reconciliation children need to participate regularly in the weekly faith formation program, attend the three sacramental preparation sessions, and have previously been baptized.
Registration Preparation for first reconciliation usually takes place when a child is in second grade, although older children may be enrolled in the program upon parent request. Children in the second grade are automatically registered for the first reconciliation program when they are registered in the parish’s weekly K-8 faith formation program.
Celebration First reconciliation is celebrated in December.
